Around 4,000 motorcycle enthusiasts flocked to the Philippine Moto Heritage Weekend 2019 held at the Metrotent Convention Center in Ortigas, Pasig last September 28 to 29. The country’s biggest vintage and classic bike show attracted people from all walks of life who marveled at the bike displays and enjoyed the various activities at the event.
Celebrities like Richard Gutierrez, Jason Abalos, Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez, to politicians like former senator JV Ejercito and Congressman and avid rider Atty. Bong Suntay soaked in and appreciated the old-school theme of the Philippine Moto Heritage Weekend.
Coinciding with Ride PH’s second anniversary, the event featured more than 30
sponsors and exhibitors, with various motorcycle brand and dealerships which showcased both their heritage models as well as their more modern bikes. Major sponsor Suzuki finally launched the all-new Katana, an updated version of the legend with all the latest tech. Royal Enfield also featured an impressive booth that hosted the book launch of Road to Himalayas, which detailed the trip done by riders Michael Eijansantos, Jake Verzosa, and Zandro Fajardo.
Meanwhile, leading independent fuel company Cleanfuel brought in world-class motocross rider Kenneth San Andres to impart some of his riding wisdom to guests, and their classic crowd-drawer BMW 1963 R27.

One of the highlights of the two-day event is the Moto Heritage vintage and classic
motorcycle competition, which featured 27 immaculate and fully restored motorcycles. Having a total of 10 categories, guests and visitors got to ogle at everything from old-school big bikes to the rarest of scooters.
Ride PH tapped the four of the country’s best motorcycle experts to judge the competition and even flew in Norty Alex, a veteran moto journalist and motorcycle concours event organizer from Malaysia. Below are their chosen winners for each category.

The next day, Top Gear Philippines editor Aris Ilagan and contributor Jolly Alarcon took the stage to give out advice on acquiring and maintaining classic and vintage motorcycles.
Of course, the Philippine Moto Heritage Weekend won’t be complete without the annual after-ride program of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, the global fundraising event
for prostate cancer and male mental health awareness. More than 1,000 dapper riders rode around Metro Manila on Sunday morning and converged at the Moto Heritage stage, where they held games and gave out prizes as well.
